Hopped Cider

Hopped Ciders are ciders incorporating hops as an adjunct. Ciders with hops and other herbal/botanical elements (lemongrass, flower petals, tea blends, etc.) should be entered in Specialty Cider and Perry. Entrants may specify the variety of hops used on the entry form in the Additional Information section.

High-scoring entries balance the flavors and aromas of the base apple character alongside the hop profile. The entry should present as a beverage that is unmistakably a cider (i.e. as opposed to a wine, malt, or spirit-based beverage). Oxidation is a fault.

Common Appearance: Clear to brilliant.

Common ABV Range: 5 – 9%
